“Writers play a prominent role in the success of a movie, but still they are not getting due recognition”, says film producer Trisakthi Sundararaman.

The industrialist, who had produced ‘Vallamai Tharayo’ and currently producing ‘Kola Kolaya Mundhirikka’, was recently at a function to hand over a sum of Rs 10 lakh as corpus fund for Tamil Film Writers Association.

“The function was an attempt to respect writers. We should honour them in every way and they should get their due recognition. Without writers, no movie could taste success,” he says. The corpus fund would be utilised to provide welfare measures including medical facilities for writers.

Interestingly, the director of both the production ventures of Sundararaman is his daughter Madhumitha, who had apprenticed filmmaking in abroad. Meanwhile, sources have it that he also has plans to make movies by giving opportunity to young directors.
