Pro-BJP vs anti-BJP fight over 'Tanhaji', 'Chhapaak'

This Friday is going to see the release of two Hindi movies. One is Ajay Devgn's 'Tanhaji', a biographical period action film that tells the story of a military leader of the Maratha king Sivaji. The other one is Deepika Padukone's 'Chhapaak', which tells the story of a real-life acid-attack victim named Lakshmi and how she dared her fate like a true heroine.
With Deepika Padukone politically picking sides by selectively standing in solidarity with only one student group in the Jawaharlal Nehru University (which has seen hooliganism by Leftist students and violence by ABVP students), sections of BJP supporters are angry with her. Many want to boycott the film. They are pulling out an old interview of Deepika in which the 'Padmaavat' actress is heard saying that she is a Rahul Gandhi fan. They are also encouraging 'Tanhaji' deliberately.
On the other hand, anti-BJP sections are promoting 'Chhapaak', saying that Deepika needs all the support in the world for standing up against the Modi regime.
This debate is active on social media. In the real world, it's a non-issue.
As of now, Deepika is managing to hog headlines by playing her cards well. By visiting the JNU just days before the release of her movie, the star actress has created publicity for herself. At the end of the day, content matters more than anything else.
