In his rather short career so far, actor Priyanshu Painyuli has managed to play a wide range of characters. He played a courageous social activist in 'Bhavesh Joshi Superhero', a comic relief character in 'Mirzapur' and a Bangladeshi drug lord in 'Extraction'. Priyanshu is now set to appear in a totally distinct character in Taapsee Pannu starrer 'Rashmi Rocket'. He is playing a army officer in the film and recently he talked about the challenges he faced while portraying the character.
Priyanshu said, "I did not want to go wrong at all, because coming from an army background, I don’t want to give them one chance of pointing out that this certain thing was not done like an army officer. So that was challenging, to play the part to the tee, and to make my father proud of that. I have also played the character different and real, in the sense that we did not make him the typical army officer one has seen in films before."
Priyanshu then went on to describe how his character is different from generic army characters that we see on screen. He said, "He is supposed to be softer, much kinder, and when he’s off the uniform or doing a romantic scene, I don’t play him like an army man at all. I’ve played him shy, he talks less, but he means a lot. Also, I had to put on some weight to look fit, for which I had to train for a couple of months."
