Priyanka Gandhi, who entered active politics only earlier this year, will tour eastern Uttar Pradesh soon. As per a news agency report, the tour is meant to connect with her cadres, hold deliberations with them and spot popular faces in different villages and districts.

"The General Secretary will take care of making appointments to the Congress party's district-level committees," the report says.

After she recently stormed into the Sonbhadra firing incident, Priyanka made politically-charged statements against the Yogi Adityanath government. Many feel that she is going to play a crucial role in her party in the coming years across the country. "With Rahul Gandhi quitting as the Congress president, the onus is on his sister to take forward the legacy of Sonia Gandhi," a commentator says.
