While shooting in Manali ,Priyanka Chopra spent a grueling 35 days training for the crucial climax scenes of the film. Priyanka would train in the night post pack-ups for scenes in the film that will see her do some hardcore primal training which includes high intensity training, adapted to your ability, minus machines.

Confirming the news says director Omung Kumar, "When we were in Manali, we had to make sure Priyanka got her three hours of training. But we had back-to-back schedules, so there was little time for her to train. Even then, after finishing the shoot late, she would go to the gym after midnight, train till 2 am and come back to the sets by 9 am." Adding that, "The shoot would be exhausting as she had to shoot complex training scenes during the day. We also shot outdoors in freezing temperatures; she performed all the stunts herself,". Depicting this exhilarating tale of Mary Kom, the film aims to be a game-changer in Bollywood . Citing the role to be her most challenging this far, Priyanka Chopra will be seen bringing to life a woman torn between societal stigmas, parental pressures and an unquenchable thirst for achieving sporting excellence.

Produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures & Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Mary Kom, a biopic of India`s premier woman boxer to hit theaters 5th September 2014.
