International and Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra who made an astounding entrance on the red carpet at the 88th Academy Awards, has become the second most searched celebrity after Hollywood's Leonardo DiCaprio. She has put India among top 10 markets for searches related to Oscars.

According to sources, India contributes about 2 per cent of global searches for the Oscars and is among top 10 markets for searches on the Academy Awards. Google opened up saying, "As high as 50% of all Oscar searches worldwide have originated from US with the next 30 per cent of search share including the markets of UK, Canada, Australia and Spain according to the company." They also added saying, "When Compared to 2015, this year has seen a 70 per cent Year-on-Year growth in queries for the Oscars with January this year witnessing two times spike in searches in comparison to December 2015."

Surprisingly, the top searched trends from India this year included Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Director. Bollywood beauty Priyanka, who stole hearts with a white transparent gown by Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad for her award presentation ceremony, became the second most searched celebrity. While Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio, emerged as the most popular searched Oscar celebrity as he won the Best Actor for the movie 'The Revenant'.
