Priyamani's Charulatha, a tri-lingual film made simultaneously in Telugu, Tamil and Kannada, has a surprise in store. It is, in the words of its producer Ramesh Krishna Murthy, a first-of-its-kind film in India. It sees the talented actress in two roles. Now these twins are conjoined. The film is inspired by the 2007 Thai movie Alone, which had Thai-German pop singer Marsha Wattanapanich in lead role.
Some changes have been made to the original script to suit the taste of south Indian audience, said a press release from the production house, Global One Studios. The Telugu version of this movie will be produced by Allu Aravind under the banner, Geetha Arts.
The film is being directed by Pon Kumaran, a former associate to K Bhagyaraj and KS Ravikumar. Mollywood actor Skandha is the male lead, and Seetha, Saranya Ponvannan and 'Vettaikaran' Sai Sasi are doing crucial roles.
The film has horror elements in good dose. MV Panneer Selvam's cinematography and Sundar C Babu's music are touted to be highlights.
