As the state Assembly elections are scheduled for May 12, 2018 – understanding the need of politically related cinema, three producers are out in the battle of box office before battle of ballot box.
The first one is ‘Hebbat Ramakka’ of director NR Nanjunde Gowda that stars national award winning actress Thara Anuradha and dynamic star Devaraj in the production of SA Puttaraju and Kavitha. This film has already bagged the national award as best regional cinema. State award winning music composer Poornachandra Tejaswi has done music for this film
Hebbat Ramakka is a film that focus attention on what happens when an uneducated comes to power. In this case a woman Ramakka wins the Pachayat election and her husband starts ruling the power. It is to what extreme you would see in this film.
The second in the queue is ‘Kanoorayana’ in the guidelines of Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala Sri Veerendra Heggade. Sri Veeredra Heggade is known for rural development schemes. The woman empowerment and financial discipline is the topic of this unique crowd funded cinema. 20 lakhs people have contributed Rs.20 each for the budget of the film in national fame director TS Nagarbharana direction.
The financial discipline is more in women but not in men. That is the most essential factor for self reliance is discussed in this film. Vasuki Vaibhav has done five songs for this film.
The third film of this week release is also politically attached. That is ‘Dwaja’. Dwaja is a remake of Tamil film ‘Kodi’ – what super star Dhanush has done in the film a newcomer Ravi is playing double role with responsibility of producer.
In ‘Dwaja’ lovers are attached to two different political parties. Well known cameraman Ashok Kashyap is also director of this film. It is CBG Productions, Sudha Basave Gowda is official producer of this political thriller with love story. Priyamani is in the screen name Ramya in this film. Ravi, Divya Uruduga, TN Seetharam, Veena Sunder, Tabala Nani, Bala, Mandya Ravi, Sunder Raj and others are in the cast. Tamil film ‘Kabaali’ music director Santosh Narayan scored music for five songs.
