It is the season of biopics in Kollywood and Indian cinema and as much as three are being made based on the life of former TN chief minister J. Jayalalitha. The biggest budgeted one is 'Thalaivi' starring Kangana Ranaut in the title role.

Jayalalitha's life story cannot be told without her close aide and controversial personality Sasikala Natarajan who is serving a jail term for multicrore corruption allegedly committed during the Jayalalitha rule. There is a huge curiosity as to who would be playing the role of Sasi in 'Thalaivi'.

It now emerges that Priyamani has been roped in to play the pivotal character of Sasikala and will appear throughout the film alongside Kangana Ranaut. Arvind Swamy is playing the role of MGR and the project is progressing as large scale multilingual extravaganza.
