On Monday night, 'Mallesham' actor Priyadarshi took to Twitter to announce that his bike had been stolen by an "unprofessional thief". Posting the CCTV footage of a masked man stealing his bike parked in front of a building, the comedian noted that the thief didn't know that cameras were observing him.
Very soon, many Twitter users started tagging the Hyderabad police, requesting them to take action. Some inquired Priyadarshi if he got the bike back. Many were genuinely sorry for what happened to the celeb.
As it soon turned out, Priyadarshi was playing a mere prank. It was part of a promotional strategy of the makers of 'Ninu Veedani Needanu Nene', to be released on July 12.
"Sorry this got more serious than we expected..it's a fun promotional campaign that we are doing for #NinuVeedaniNeedaniNene. As we dint get @priyadarshi_i dates..we had his bike make a special appearance in our film," actor-producer Sundeep Kishan tweeted out.
The makers of 'NVNN' are going all out to promote the film in a novel way. Earlier, we saw the washrooms in multiplexes flooded with promotional posters. And now this. Sundeep Kishan and his fellow producers are spending a bomb on promoting the movie.
