Priyadarshan talks serious

Winning a National Award for the off-beat 'Kanchivaram' has changed Priyadarshan a lot, one has to say. For the filmmaker, who is known for tickling the funny bones of audience with comic capers for more then a decade, is planning to take a break.

My next films are not comedies. I am planning to make a film on AIDS and another one on female infanticide, he says with all seriousness.

Issues like AIDS and female infanticide are very close to me and have been lying in my heart for so long. Now I have the encouragement to try my hands on them, he adds.

Taking a dig at the Indian entries sent to the Academy awards, Priyan says, We send trash to the Oscars. The government should request that the films selected for National Awards should be sent.
