Actress joins BJP

South Indian actress Priya Raman, who has worked predominantly in Malayalam films and was introduced to Tamil cinema through the Rajinikanth-produced film Valli, has announced that she will be joining the Narendra Modi led BJP soon enough.

The actress who became a known face in Tamil cinema owing to her role in the Sarath Kumar-Devayani starrer Suryavamsam, later married actor Ranjith, her co-star in Nesam Pudhusu. The couple, who eventually got divorced in 2014, have two kids. Priya Raman was greeted by the state general secretary of BJP, V Satyamurthy, district president B Chandra Reddy, and other leaders when she arrived at the Samalamma temple in Tirupati on Wednesday.

"She's inspired to join BJP due to great strides and development agenda of Narendra Modi government," a report read. She will meet the PM soon and then join the party, according to the report.
