Priya Anand is leaving for the north. The actress, after making her presence felt in Tamil and Telugu film industries, will soon be seen in a Hindi film, to be directed by Balki of 'Cheeni Kum' and 'Paa' fame.
"Since the story is set in the backdrop of the United States and it mainly revolves around an Indian girl who is the US now, Balki felt that Priya's profile fits well to the character. Hence he has decided to cast her in the film," sources say.
"Priya will be having a meaty role in this film to play. Since Balki is a name to reckon with in quality films and he had worked with none other than the Big B himself, the actress feels that her maiden venture in Hindi would bring her name and fame," sources add.
The Tamil speaking actress, who started her career in Kollywood with Jai-starrer 'Vamanan', was last seen in 'Nootrenbadhu' opposite Siddarth. "She is also holding talks with a couple of south Indian filmmakers to be part of their projects," sources further say.
