Ten people lost their lives on Sunday after a private plane crashed into a hangar while taking off. The aircraft burst into flames at the municipal airport in Addison, Texas. Darci Neuzil, deputy director of Addison Airport reported that the twin-engine Beechcraft BE-350 King Air was demolished by the fire following the crash. The plane was headed to Florida and took off at 9 am. It had taken to the air from the runway when the vehicle turned sharply and its left wing dropped and hit the hangar.
No one survived the accident and the identities of the victims have been kept confidential until their families have been informed. None on the ground were reported injured. It is possible that the plane had lost an engine during takeoff, leading to the incident. The building has also been damaged but was apparently unoccupied at the time. Flames and dark smoke were seen emerging from the site. Investigations will be conducted by the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board.
