Private buses loot, series of Holidays

The private bus operators have doubled the fares from the normal tariff on general days. They have taken advantage of the series of holidays from 12th of August to 16th of August.

As the people from Bengaluru leave to different destination the private operators to Chennai, Mangaluru, Kalburgi, Hubballi, Belagavi, Uttar Kannada, Goa, Hyderabad, Cochin and other place ticket rates have been considerably increased.

On an average nearly 3000 buses leave from state road transport while 500 buses are private operators. To serve the needs of the commuters the state government pressed for 500 more buses to meet the demand.

The fares are ranging from Rs.1200 to Rs.3200 to Belagavi, Hubbali Rs.850 to Rs.3000, Chennai it is Rs.500 to Rs.3000 from Bengaluru are some of the statistics available.
