While actor Prithviraj is back to India after over two months of the shoot in Jordan amid lockdown, his mother and actress Mallika Sukumaran had to be evacuated from her home due to floods. Due to continuous heavy raining for the past few days, Mallika Sukumaran's house was submerged in water after the Karamanayar river overflowed to her area. The actress was evacuated by fire force on a fibre boat her flooded house in Kundamankadavu, Trivandrum.

The actress blamed the authorities for causing the flood by lifting the shutters of the Aruvikkara Dam without warning. The actress was shifted to her brother’s house at Jawahar Nagar.

Earlier, in the 2018 massive flood too, Mallika Sukumaran and 13 other residents in the area experienced the same situation. In 2018, Mallika was rescued from her house by local people in a large metal vessel. The photo of the actress in the vessel had gone viral on social media.
