Prithviraj shared a heartfelt note on the death anniversary of legendary actor Bharath Gopi. The actor dedicated his much-awaited directorial 'Empuraan', the sequel of 'Lucifer', to the veteran actor.
“One of the greatest actors to have lived. Little did I know during the times we met, that his son and I would grow up to forge a bond not just as brothers. But as a writer and director too. Empuraan is for you uncle!,” wrote Prithviraj. Bharath Gopi, one of the finest actors in Mollywood, passed away on January 29, 2008, following a cardiac arrest.
'Empuraan' is the sequel to Prithviraj's debut directorial 'Lucifer', that starred Mohanlal in the lead role. The movie was announced last year through a short video clip featuring Mohanlal and Prithviraj in mass avatars.
'Lucifer', which released in March 2019 was a thorough commercial entertainer. The movie fetched over Rs 200 crore at the box office, making it the second Malayalam movie to achieve this feat after Mohanlal’s Pulimurugan in 2016. The movie was bankrolled by Antony Perumbavoor.
While 'Lucifer', penned by Murali Gopy, was a star-studded film with Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Vivek Oberoi and Indrajith in lead roles, 'Empuraan’s star cast and other details are yet to be announced. Bharath Gopi’s son Murali Gopy has penned the story and script of 'Empuraan' as well. The screenwriter had earlier said that the shoot would start only by the end of 2021 as Mohanlal and Prithviraj have acting commitments.
Prithviraj is currently on a break, working on his appearance for his next project 'Aadujeevitham'. The shoot of the flick is expected to wrap only by the end of 2020. Prithviraj also has a project with Shaji Kailas titled 'Kaduva'. Murali is currently working on a film by Ratheesh Ambatt, starring Prithviraj before 'Empuraan'.
