Prithviraj was touted to play the leading role along with Mohanlal in the movie 'Kanal' which is set to begin in May. The actor has backed out since he has a tight schedule during the month of May. He has the second schedule of 'Anarkali' and 'Ennu Ninte Moideen' coming up along with 'Amar Akbar Anthony'. 'Kanal' was scheduled to begin in August. However, it was preponed since Mohanlal's 'Puli Murugan' was postponed.

It is also reported that Prithviraj has baked out from a cameo role in the movie 'Loham'. It looks like a Mohanlal -Prithviraj movie will not materialize anytime in the near future. Lal Jose had planned one some time ago titled 'Cousins' which had to be shelved due to creative differences between Mohanlal and the director.
