Actors Prithviraj Sukumaran and Nayanthara are teaming up for the first time with superhit director Alphonse Puthren for an upcoming movie titled 'Gold'. The movie, which marks Premam director Alphonse Puthren's comeback to filmmaking after a long gap of 6 years, started rolling on September 8, Wednesday. The exciting news was announced by Prithviraj through his official social media handles. Sharing a picture of the clapboard, Prithviraj announced the same. The pooja ceremony of the movie was held at Kochi in the presence of director Alphonse Puthren, Prithviraj's mother Mallika Sukumaran, co-producer Listin Stephen, and the rest of the team members. Apparently, both Prithviraj and his wife Supriya Menon, who is also the co-producer of Gold, skipped the pooja ceremony as they wanted to spend time with their daughter Alankrita aka Ally, who celebrated her 7th birthday on September 8. Take a look at the pictures from the celebration here.
After the remarkable success of his 2015 directorial Premam, Alphonse Puthren's fans were eagerly waiting for his next. Last year, he had announced a movie titled Paattu, that will bring together Fahadh Faasil and Nayanthara in the lead roles. Touted to be a musical film, the movie was supposed to go on floors earlier this year. Owing to the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, the movie's shoot has been indefinitely postponed. Reportedly, Paattu will start rolling only after the world comes back to normalcy.
