Prithviraj faces severe cyber attack

A day after actor Prithviraj and director Ashiq Abu announced their maiden movie together titled 'Vaariyamkunnan', the lead hero is facing a harsh cyberattack on signing up the movie. The upcoming movie is based on the 1921 Malabar revolution and Prithviraj will essay the title role of Variyan Kunnathu Kunjahammed Haji, who was the leader of Malabar Rebellion against the British.
After the announcement of the film, the actor's social media has been flooded with lewd comments saying that the team is set to glorify the alleged criminal Kunjahammad Haji. Several Hindutva people also came forward saying claiming Haji to be an anti-Hindu and the movie based on his life will misinterpret the history. The cyberattacks were launched against not only against Prithviraj but also his family members, demanding the actor to quit the project. Though Prithviraj had been criticized at various times in his career, this is the first time in recent years that such a fierce attack has taken place. The actor is yet to respond on the cyber attack.

Muhsin Parari, co-writer of Aashiq Abu's previous films Virus and Sudani from Nigeria, will be co-directing the movie. scripted by Harshad and Rameez, the movie will go floors next year, which marks to be the 100th anniversary of the revolution.
Produced bu Zikandar and Moideen under the banner of Compass Movies Ltd, the movie has cinematography by Shyju Khalid and editing by Saiju Sreedharan.
