Naming films after yesteryear MGR blockbusters has of late become a trend in Tamil cinema. The latest to cash in on the Makkal Thilakam’s craze is a Malayalam movie starring Prithviraj, which is set to be dubbed in Tamil.

Making a slight change to the title of the 1975 MGR movie ‘Ninaithadhai Mudippavan’, the Tamil version of Prithviraj’s Malayalam hit ‘Robinhood’ has been named ‘Naan Ninaithadhai Mudippavan’.

In the film, the actor plays a hi-tech conman who robs ATMs and feeds the poor. Bhavana plays Prithviraj’s love interest, while Narain and Jayasuriya as investigating officers. Veteran director Joshy has directed this thriller. Music is by Jayachandran.

Meanwhile, the other Prithviraj film to be dubbed into Tamil is Deepan directed ‘Puthiya Mugham’ which has Priyamani opposite the actor. The Mollywood actor also plays a pivotal role in Mani Ratnam’s ‘Raavan’ which is set to hit the screens soon.
