Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran encountered an accident while filming his upcoming movie Vilayath Buddha, resulting in a leg injury. Today, he will undergo a key holder surgery to address the injury. Following medical advice, the actor will take a hiatus from work for a few weeks to recover.
The incident occurred during Vilayath Buddha's fierce combat sequence at Marayoor in Cochin. Prithviraj was rushed to a private hospital. Doctors advised him to have surgery today and recuperate for a few weeks.
Prithviraj may need 2–3 months off work to heal from the injuries. The hospital and actor have not published a remark on the duration. Jayan Nambiar's Vilayath Buddha adapts GR Indugopan's novel. Nambiar assisted late director Sachy on Ayyappanum Koshiyum.

In "Bade Miyan Chote Miyan", Prithviraj plays the villain Kabir with Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff. L2: Empuraan, starring Mohanlal, is his follow-up to Lucifer.
