By now, the fan frenzy is in peaks, as Superstar Rajnikanth starrer Petta, directed by Karthik Subbaraj, and costarring Vijay Sethupathi, Trisha, Simran, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and the Thala Ajith, Nayanthara starrer Viswasam, directed by Siva, are set to clash at the box office as they're releasing tomorrow worldwide.

While the Petta Vs Viswasam clash is the talk of tinsel town at the moment, do you when was the last time Thala Ajith and Superstar Rajni had their movies running alongside in theaters? The closest encounter Rajni and Ajith had at the box office was when Superstar's Arunachalam, directed by Sundar.C, and costarring Soundarya released on April 10,1997, and the Ajith - Ramba starrer Raasi directed by Murali Abbas that released on April 18,1997.

Arunachalam had a winning run at the box office, while Raasi ended a dud.
