As Kate Middleton continues her cancer treatment away from the spotlight, Prince William has given a fresh report on her condition. The Duke of Wales said Kate is getting well when he visited with veterans in Portsmouth on June 5, the 80th anniversary of the D-Day Landings. As he said, "She would have loved to be here today."
William recalled in a video shared on X (formerly known as Twitter) that Kate's grandmother worked at Bletchley Park. "I was reminding everybody her grandmother served at Bletchley Park," he said. "So, she shared a lot of things with a few of the women here who worked at Bletchley." Valerie Glassborrow, Kate's paternal grandma, worked at the renowned World War II spy station where Alan Turing deciphered the Enigma code that the Nazis used to encrypt communications.
William, who has three children with KateâPrince George, 10; Princess Charlotte, 9; and Prince Louis, 6âwill continue to attend events by himself while Kate concentrates on her recuperation. Along with the Trooping the Colour Ceremony on June 8, Kate will also miss the Colonel's Review.
