Prince Harry's return to the UK now hangs in the balance following a reported change of plans by Meghan Markle, which could ultimately scupper an appearance for him at the 10th Anniversary Service of the Invictus Games at St. Paul's Cathedral on May 8th.
While Harry has confirmed he will be in the UK, there is yet to be any form of confirmation on Meghan's whereabouts amid security fears following leaks about their travel plans.
"Meghan is not safe taking the children to the UK now," says an insider. That would leave Harry in a dilemma: beef up security for their visit or go alone. He allegedly begged Meghan not to make him go alone.
According to the sources, both Harry and Meghan had originally intended for the couple to attend the UK Invictus ceremony. However, the leaked details of their appearance caused Meghan to reconsider. The couple would have wanted to fly to the UK on May 7, attend the ceremony, and stay for some more days so that the children could meet with some members of the Royal Family.
Meghan was apprehensive about returning to England; she did not want to have an anxiety-filled visit. They were also due to celebrate Archie's fifth birthday at the family's home in Montecito on May 6, then fly to the UK.
At the end of the day, it literally hangs in the balance if Meghan's safety concerns and anxiety over returning to England outweigh the UK travel plans for Harry's UK comeback. Whether they will be together at the ceremony of Invictus or Harry will go alone, indeed, it remains to be seen.
