Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated his 70th birthday on September 17. He was flooded with wishes from celebrities and fellow citizens on the occasion and Indian team skipper Virat Kohli was among the many cricketers who wished the PM.

"Wishing a very Happy birthday to our honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji. @narendramodi @PMOIndia," Kohli had written on Twitter. Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma announced over a month ago that they were looking forward to welcoming their first child in January next year. In his response to Kohli, PM Modi thanked him and congratulated the batsman on his new chapter in life, adding that he and Anushka would make amazing parents. "Thank you @imVkohli! I would also like to congratulate @AnushkaSharma and you. I am sure you will be amazing parents!" Thanking the PM for his wishes, Virat Kohli has now replied, "Thank you for the lovely wishes sir." Meanwhile, Virat Kohli is preparing himself and his team Royal Challengers Bangalore for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League scheduled to happen in the UAE. The team will be starting their IPL 2020 campaign against Sunrisers Hyderabad on September 21.

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma tied the knot in a private ceremony in Italy in December 2017 after dating for a few years. The occasion was graced by PM Narendra Modi as well.
