Even after all the struggle, we are still unsure of whether Kamal's "Vishwaroopam" will hit the screens on Jan 11th or not. This confusion is due to the opposed response to his DTH release plan.

The recent update is that, not just all his fans, but also the current Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Jayalalithaa, is very eager to watch this film in theaters. She has asked Kamal to organize an exclusive screening for her because the bits and pieces of the film which she already saw has aroused her curiosity to watch "Vishwaroopam". She will be able to watch the film only on or after January 10th though as the people in charge do not want to screen it before the official release.

Kamal and team are happy to hear about the Chief Minister's eagerness since they already share a good friendship. On the other hand, the Tamil Nadu Cinema Theaters Association is opposing the release of "Vishwaroopam" and have decided to stop the release of the film in the whole state of Tamil Nadu.
