Karthikeya is going to debut in the film 'Prematho Mee Karthik', which is set to hit the screens this Friday (Nov 17). In this interview, the youngster talks about what is in store in the movie, how it happened to him, and more.
How did this film happen to you?
I had always wanted to become an actor since childhood. After completing my Engineering, I acted in some short-films. I was always looking for some good opportunity. I was ready to act in any movie, even if it had a couple of other male leads. This is when the producer of 'Prematho Mee Karthik' called me up and asked me to meet the director. I accepted to do the movie as soon as I listened to the script.
What is the premise of 'Prematho Mee Karthik'?
Karthik grows up in the US. Emotions and relations are not his cup of tea to begin with. When he falls in love with a girl, that becomes game-changing. What follows next is the crux of our movie.
The film has senior artists like Gollapudi Maruthirao. How was it working with the veteran?
Many people wait to talk to him and act with him. And I got to work with him in my very debut. This must be because of some good deeds I did in my past lives! I will never forget the kind of support he gave me on the sets. His episode is very crucial for the movie.
Tell us about Shaan Rahman's music.
The director made it a point to rope him in. He is a top musician in Mollywood. His background music and songs are going to be a major highlight of the movie.
How was it working with your co-star, Simrat Kaur?
She was not trying hard to get into films. With no filmi background, she was spotted by our director when he was going through some profiles. I must say that she has done a phenomenal job.
How was it working with the director?
Although it's Sathya garu's first movie, he has done it so well that you might think of him as an experienced director. He has worked under the likes of B Gopal, MS Raju and Vijay Bhaskar.
Tell us about the production values.
Since the film was made without compromising anywhere, the visuals are as good as they are in the case of big films. I am glad to have got to do 'PMK'. For someone who was doing only short films, getting to do a titular male lead is a big thing. The film's success will be a bonus.
