Yesterday our Pretty Woman Preity Zinta added a prestigious feather to her cap.

The dimpled actress was awarded with Honorary Doctorate by the University of East London for her outstanding contributions to the film industry and her tireless work as an humanitarian.

After receiving the honour she stated, "I am extremely humbled to receive this award amid such distinguished gathering."

Before the event, Preity had tweeted, "It feels great to be appreciated 4 not only my film achievements but also for my humanitarian and charity work! Thank you UEL for Dr. Pz!"
