It is high time the bosses in Kannada cinema industry spruce up this kind of producer, director, actors to churn a decent film. Otherwise the only the number of films in Kannada film will be increasing and not quality films. Nothing is fair in `Preethiya Theru'. This is a film made in Rs.4 crores says producer Lokesh Reddy but there are not even four good things that are refreshing.

Like `Samagama' the problem with this film also is the protagonist. No training, no looks and no hard work from newcomer Thanil. The hero is the son of producer Lokesh Reddy. It is just `Putra Vyamoha' nothing else. Sure to be a disaster in the box office if the first day reports are taken in to account.

A poor story, lackadaisical screenplay, wrong casting spoils the investment of producer Lokesh Reddy. Prasad as the director and music director with two good songs has been able to give some strength  tothis film.

Shakthi (Thanil) is the darling of down trodden. He does not tolerate injustice. But when it comes to love from Preethi (Madhumitha) it is a great injustice for Shakthi. On a misconception Preethi ditches Shakthi that leads to devil nature in him. Shakthi hates all those who have fallen in love. This becomes a law and order problem. By force Shakthi is taken to the hospital where the doctor identifies him for Disassociated Identify Disorder. Shakthi's normal and abnormal nature because of love failure and is given treatment. By this time Preethi realizes that Shakthi has not done anything wrong. When she tries to come back in the life of Shakthi she is turned down.

Thanil has to learn acting, change his looks for better. He is good in action and dance. Madhumitha is OK in romantic songs.

The song Sum Sumne...is lavishly made and looks grand on silver screen. Enidhenidh...is another melodious song. Cinematography by BL Babu is average

Scoring 4/10
