Debutant director LN Murthy, producer R Venkatesh and hero Akshay Kumar in `Preethi Nee Shaswathana' offer a cool musical and triangular love story film that is easily passable. Music director cum lyricist K Kalyan is the first hero of this film. The songs quality and singers selection is top grade. The song sung by KJ Yesudas for an emotional situation is very meaningful.
Whether love is permanent or not - the film asks in rather protracted style of narration with many valuable points here and there. Director LN Murthy concludes there is nothing like sacrifice. It appears there is enjoyment in doing sacrifices in life.
The handsome hunk Akshay (Akshay Kumar) a model photographer is bowled by the beauty of Nandini (Keerthi). He takes lot of time to express his love but by the time he expresses it there is a shock for him. Nandini daughter of a business tycoon stepped wrongly on her life with Abhi (Gopalakrishna). She makes her intentions very clear that she is in love with Abhi who is the son of an upright cop. To spoil the image of Nandini she is arrested in a brothel case that shivers her family. Akshay is confirmed that Nandini is wrongly confined and saves her from further disturbance. When the marriage of Abhi is set with another girl Akshay bring Nandini to the marriage hall and give justice to her life.
Akshay Kumar as the debutant hero is promising. He has to improve his dialogue delivery and make use of his height and weight properly. He bends his body in the long shots. Keerthi as Nandini is convincing.
The real beauty of this film are the songs of K Kalyan - Atthamele Kannirige Beleyilla Aladiddare Preethige Neleyilla..sung by Dr KJ Yesudas, Hothutto Muchene Elthini..sung by Shaan and Sunidhi Chauhan, Obba Hudugana Manassu.sung by Sonu Nigam and Shreya Goshal are the super songs in this film. The lyrics of K Kalyan are of high standard.
Cameraman Veenus Murthy has also done a splendid job as his outdoor capture of scenic beauty especially in the songs is terrific.
This is a passable love story dosed with sacrifice.
Scoring 7/10
