Actor Pratik Gandhi became an overnight star after starring in Hansal Mehta's massively successful web show 'Scam 1992'. However, there was years of hardwork, dedication and zeal to succeed behind this seemingly instant success. Unlike most actors working today, Pratik had a stable and good paying job before venturing into the acting field but he had to give that up and take the leap in order to realise his dreams.
In a recent conversation with Mashable India, the actor revealed why he was compelled to leave his job. "It was a practical problem, I wasn’t going to get leaves immediately, whatever was going to happen would have to wait for two years," Pratik stated.
He added, "My CTC at the time was Rs 18 lakh per annum. I joined as an assistant manager, and precisely every three years I got a promotion. So, when I resigned in 2016, when Wrong Side Raju was about to be released, my CTC was Rs 25 lakh. The film was released in September, and my last day in office was August 26. But I thought, this is it.”
Pratik concluded by saying, “The journey after that was amazing. I did eight back-to-back Gujarati films, so many plays."
