With ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’, renowned lyricist turned script writer for the first time. Next he is going to step into director’s shoes...

Story goes that...While preparing for the biopic based on the legendary athlete Milkha Singh, Prasoon, who spent a lot of time with ‘The Flying Sikh’ and his family, was rather taken up with the sprinter’s life beyond his passion for the sport.

So now, we got to know that, Prasoon has started working on a script based on the athlete’s life post retirement, which he also plans to direct. Most of all, Prasoon is keen to capture on celluloid Milkha’s unique relationship with his son Jeev, whom he has helped train to be a successful golfer. I got interested in how Milkha-ji shares such a beautiful relationship with his wife and son.

In Bhaag Milkha..., we have only documented his career but I felt there was so much more to the man than just his professional endeavour, confirmed the lyricist-writer. However Prasoon refuses to call his film an ‘extended biopic’ or sequel of ‘Bhaag Milkha’, as he would be incorporating certain fictional elements as well. But he does not rule out the possibility of casting Farhan Akhtar again as Milkha in his film. “Farhan has stunned everybody, including Milkha-ji. If things workout, he should be part of the film I write, said the lyricist-writer.

Rakyesh Omprakash’s ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’, also starring Sonam Kapoor, Divya Dutta and Prakash Raj, is slated to release on 12th July.
