Prasanth to feature in CM's story

Tamilnadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi had written a story called 'Ponnar-Shankar' which was highly celebrated for its literary values. This story is going to be a made into a film and the director would be Thyagarajan and the star of the film will be Prasanth. The film reportedly will be made at a whopping cost and the director is totally upbeat about the prospects.

Interestingly, both the characters of Ponnar and Shankar will be played by Prasanth himself.

Grapevine has it that both Karunanidhi and Thyagarajan have a similarity. The Chief Minister's birth place Thirukuvalai also houses a temple to which Thyagarajan is a regular. The temple's god is the 'Kuladeivam' (ancestral god) of Thyagarajan. It is probably this similarity (Thirukuvalai) that has landed Thyagarajan the opportunity to direct a film with Karunanidhi's story.

Prasanth is badly in need of a hit to reclaim his position in the Tamil film industry. Will 'Ponnar-Shankar' be the right vehicle for his comeback? We'll have to wait and see.

Karunanidhi's story that has been made into a film recently, 'Uliyin Osai' is quite successful and is entertaining audiences across the state. Thygarajan would surely be hoping 'Ponnar-Shankar' will also be successful.
