After an year which had half of its 158 films donned by debutante filmmakers, the new year also kick starts with a few from freshers. When the case is all about hundreds of films with competitions in quality and presentations of narratives, each of the movies from newcomers are analysed stringently before they get approval from the masses. The latest movie on theatres is Aadhi Balakrishnan's `Pranayakadha', which after a fine start misses the track in the midway and falls apart before the finale.

The movie has Arun Narayanan, seen in lesser roles in many films as the hero Anand who is in love with Rita (Swarna Thomas). One fine day they decide to elope. As the support comes from their close friend Seban(Govindankutty), they immediately sets off a journey to the forest, hiding till the day Rita turn eighteen , ready for a legal registered marriage. But yes, as you can predict, Seban has other plans in mind which sabotages the entire plans of the couple in love who is forced to return enlightened after biter experiences .

As usual in many films of the recent times, the problem with the movie lies with its inane scripting where almost everything comes up half-baked. The characters in the fray are not properly defined and many like the ` human trafficking guy' walk in and out without proper explanations. Also the feel of love is a total dejavu in the movie, which don't live to its name. The ineffective sequences are  miserably mundane, stretched beyond limits.

Pranayakadha but lives up to its tag line 'Paranju Paranju Kaadu Kayari...' which is exactly what happens as per the narrative and also in the screen writing which doesn't answer many questions of the viewers, once they complete the watch. The climax is also a letdown and predictable which will also seal the fate of the movie. But the performances by the lead three are effective and makes the movie watchable, at times. Swarna is convincing as the teenager who realises her stupidity a little late .Arun Narayan and Govindankutty acts in their roles as per demands. The technical sides of the movie are also mediocre. All in all, this `Pranayakadha' is not a tale that can surprise or engage you in its entire length.
