Pranav Mohanlal's ‘Hridayam’ to get a remake in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi!

Vineeth Sreenivasan’s latest directorial ‘Hridayam’ featuring Pranav Mohanlal, Kalyani Priyadarshan, and Darshana Rajendran in lead roles was a huge hit at the theatres and is currently streaming on Disney+ HotStar. Though there had been speculations doing the rounds regarding its remake in other languages, now it is official! On Friday, the makers of the movie announced that the remake rights of the movie had been sold to Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and Fox Star Studios. “It is a dream come true for our team, to be associating with these two prestigious and respected names in the industry. Thank you Madhavan sir, @karanjohar sir and @apoorva1972 sir for your faith in our film. Heartfelt thanks to audiences all over the world for the immense love you have showered upon our film. ,” the makers of the movie said, while confirming the same, through their social media handle. Visakh Subramaniam also posted a photo with Karan Johar and Dharma Productions CEO Apoorva Mehta.

Karan Johar too had confirmed the same through an Instagram post. He wrote, "VerifiedI am so delighted and honoured to share this news with you. Dharma Productions & Fox Star Studios have acquired the rights to a beautiful, coming-of-age love story, #Hridayam in Hindi, Tamil & Telugu – all the way from the south, the world of Malayalam cinema. Thank you @visakhsubramaniam & @cinemasmerryland for this huge win. Can't wait for you to see it! More updates incoming, stay tuned!"

Vineeth Sreenivasan too shared his excitement on his social media handle. He wrote, "Last year this time, amidst a lot of uncertainties about the release of Hridayam, @visakhsubramaniam asked me one night, “Vineeth, do u think when our film releases, Karan Johar would see it and ask us for the remake rights in Hindi. I told visakh, “You should get some sleep (poyi kidannurangedaa)”.And now, this is real. This is happening.Thank you God! Thanks to the entire team of Hridayam! "

The musical coming-of age movie Hridayam, is produced by Visakh Subramaniam and Merryland Cinemas. The film written and directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan, who is best known for his 2012 movie Thattathin Marayathu, Hridayam told the story of Arun Neelakandan (Pranav Mohanlal), who goes to Chennai to complete graduate studies, and the events that happens in his life after meeting a girl. The movie had a total of 15 music tracks and during the launch, the team also brought back the nostalgic audio cassettes to give a wholesome experience to the music lovers. ‘Hridayam’
