Sections of media on Thursday are reporting that former President Pranab Mukherjee is no more. The dignitary has been undergoing treatment after brain surgery was performed on him recently. He has been put on ventilator support as well. Pranab had also tested positive for the novel coronavirus before the surgery.
Reacting to the news, his son Abhijit Mukherjee said that his father is "still alive and haemodynamically stable". He urged the media not to speculate. "Speculations and fake news being circulated by reputed Journalists on social media clearly reflect that the media in India has become a factory of Fake News," the upset son of Pranab wrote.
Pranab's daughter Sharmistha Mukherjee, too, called out the fake news. "Rumours about my father is false. Request, especially the media, NOT to call me as I need to keep my phone free for any updates from the hospital," she wrote.
IndiaGlitz wishes the former Union Minister a speedy recovery!
