Subhash Palekar, who is credited with conceiving Zero Budget Spiritual Farming, is a well-known purveyor of sustainable farming. In the past, he hogged headlines for blasting organic farming, a method promoted by films like 'Maharshi' and Suriya's 'NGK'.
The news is that the versatile Prakash Raj is going to essay Palekar in a biopic on him. Vijay Ram, who is an environmentalist, is going to make the biopic happen under his aegis. The film, when it comes out, is expected to give a fillip to Zero Budget Spiritual Farming.
Meanwhile, Prakash Raj has started dubbing for his character in 'Rangamarthanda', which is a Krishna Vamsi directorial. Ramya Krishna, Brahmanandam, Shivathmika Rajasekhar, and Rahul Sipligunj have key roles in it. The film could hit the screens in November.
As for Palekar, his Spiritual Farming technique has received government support in Andhra Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand over the years. Maharashtra, Karnataka, Chattisgarh and Kerala have also evinced interest.
