The latest buzz in the media is that the actor-philanthropist is all set to contest against Vishnu Manchu, the actor-writer-producer.
The 'Mosagallu' actor is yet to confirm his decision. If he is indeed in the hot race, he is likely to get a shot in the arm in the form of unconditional support from Megastar Chiranjeevi. Recently, Chiru lent his voice for the teaser of 'Son Of India', a film produced by Vishnu and starring Dr. Mohan Babu as the lead. Mohan Babu and Chiru have been long-time acquaintances, and they have buried the hatchet publicly in the past after developing differences.
It's said that the outgoing President, VK Naresh, is said to be favouring Vishnu. About 900 votes are up for grabs and the 'D&D' actor will likely win the race with a comfortable majority.
The MAA was embroiled in controversies in 2019 after VK Naresh was at loggerheads with Shivaji Raja, the ex-President of MAA. Rumour is that the differences were resolved after Chiru interfered.
