Prakash Raj strongly defends actress amid controversy

Prakash Raj has appeared on a TV debate to air his views on an ongoing controversy. Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone recently created a stir by selectively picking sides in the JNU controversy. During the TV debate, the other debater suggested that she has stirred up the controversy deliberately to promote her upcoming film 'Chhapaak' out of desperation.
"How can you say that she has done it with desperation to promote her film? She is justified in taking sides. She has done it as a sensitive artist, as a citizen," Prakash Raj said.
As the debate progressed, the 'Sarileru Neekevvaru' actor turned rhetorical, making no sense whatsoever. A Communist by conviction, he refused to condemn the Leftist hooliganism on the JNU campus, prompting the other debater to wonder if he thinks Mao was not violent at all.
