Actor Prakash Raj has been receiving critical acclaim and praise from audience ever since the release of Dasaradh-directed Shourya. Speaking at the success meet of Shourya, the versatile actor revealed that when Shourya's producer, Malkapuram Shivakumar, approached him with the offer, Prakash Raj told him that he liked the performance-oriented role.
"When Shiva came to me, he said, 'This is our story. Ours is a small-budgeted film. But you are an expensive actor'. To this, I said, 'We grow because of cinema. When someone is making experimental cinema, even big actors should come down and do such cinema. The reviews have been saying that I have done a very good role. It's all because of the way my character was etched," Prakash Raj said.
He further said, "I chose the film consciously. My journey with Dasaradh has been a long one. I did a very good role in Mr. Perfect. When he narrated the story, I was excited because of the genre."
When Dasaradh first wrote the story, he did not want to cast a big character artist like Prakash Raj, but wanted to go for small names. With the producer's encouragement, however, Dasaradh went ont to enlist Prakash Raj and Regina.
