Prakash Raj and wife file for divorce

National Award winner Prakash Raj and his wife Lalitha Kumari came to a family court in Chennai on Thursday and filed a joint petition for divorce by mutual consent. The in-chare judge, with whom the couple reportedly was closeted for more than an hour, has adjourned the matter to November 18 for further proceedings.
The divorce petition was first filed by Prakash Raj in April this year. His wife filed a restitution petition to be reunited with him. Later, she moved a family court seeking maintenance of Rs two lakh per month towards meeting family expenses.
It is said that counsel for the couple have worked out an out-of-court settlement and both the husband and wife agreed to file a joint application for divorce by mutual consent.
