Prakash Raj is known to be highly talented actor who has done different type of roles across different languages. He has done the role of the leading man, villain and even character roles.

Even his movies have varied from the regular commercial films to off beat movies. He is from Karnataka and speaks Tulu and his original name was Prakash Rai. However the versatile actor became popular in Kollywood.

According to sources, it was after the suggestion of legendary filmmaker K Balachander, he changed his name to Prakash Raj. Guess this name proved very lucky for him and since then there has been no turning back for this stalwart.
