Veteran actor Prabhu, who had played as hero in over 100 films, settled down to play character roles. His role in movies including ‘Something Something Unakum Enakum’, ‘Billa’ and ‘Thamirabarani’ won accolades for him.

Prabhu, son of thespian Sivaji, will now play a prominent role with negative shades in a movie titled ‘Enga Veetu Pillai’. The title of the movie is inspired by a yesteryear hit MGR movie.

Interestingly Vijaya Vauhini, producers of the MGR starrer, ventures to churn out the new version that would feature Sakthi, son of P Vasu and Prabhu in the lead role.

It may be recalled that in ‘Chinnathambi’, Sakthi played junior Prabhu. Sources close to the production house said, we have just retained the title but it is no remake of MGR classic.
