Actors Prabhu Deva and Prabhu had joined hands for the first time in the 2002 comic caper Charlie Chaplin, that also starred Abhirami, Gayatri Raghuram and Monal, and the movie directed by Sakthi Chidambaram went on to become a commercial success thanks to its humor-filled treatment.

The movie was an even bigger success in its other language remakes as well, and now, the core team has reunited for the sequel to the movie, Charlie Chaplin 2, that will have Prabhu Deva and Prabhu reuniting again in Sakthi Chidambaram's direction, as the men whose mistakes land them in troubles.

Nikki Galrani and Adah Sharma play the female leads in this movie, which has music by Amresh Ganesh. After the hit single Chinna Machan, the trailer of the movie released recently has been received well, and now the makers have made it official that Charlie Chaplin 2 will hit screens on January 25. It is to be seen if Charlie Chaplin 2 can stand against Petta and Viswasam which have become the favorites of exhibitors.
