As per India Today’s much-in-the-news Mood Of The Nation poll conducted in July this year, Prabhas is India's 5th most popular actor (along with 'Padmaavat' sensation Ranveer Singh).  The Telugu actor is the only South Indian star to feature in the Top 5 list of the MOTN survey.  

Not so surprisingly, mass star Salman Khan is the most popular male actor in the country with a popularity rating of about 11% votes.   Akshay Kumar, whose position is improving on the back of well-meaning cinema, occupies the second position.  The star with dull BO prospects, Shah Rukh Khan, is at No. 3 in company with Ranbir Kapoor, who has been saved by 'Sanju'.  Amitabh Bachchan, the veteran Megastar, is at No. 4.

Among the heroines, Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra and Anushka Sharma are at the top.
