Rightfully or otherwise, Prabhas has been seen as an antithesis to the allegedly Hinduphobic Bollywood. The 'Baahubali' movies were seen by several netizens as those rare movies that took pride in the Hindu identity of their central characters.
With 'Adipurush' announced, the theme is back in currency. As soon as the project was announced on Tuesday, several Netizens started saying that the film will show to Bollywood how Hindu culture should be projected in films.
"After a very very long time Hindi audience will see a movie based on Hindu religion on a big scale (sic)," a user said.
"Absolute fire!! Sky gonna break loose at the Box Office!! Too early to compare it with a giant Bahubali but it sure looks no less exciting!! Bollywood retardirectors take note. This is how you uphold Hindu culture & regional cinema (sic)," a Twitter user thundered.
"Yay.. hope this film becomes the wake of Sleeping Hindu around the world (sic)," another Twitter user tweeted. "Awesome concept and as usual South will preserve Hindu culture #Adipurush (sic)," yet another tweeple opined.
"The best thing I like about South-Indian Actors and regional directors is that they are Proud Hindus (sic)," a commoner said.
Director Om Raut's previous film, 'Tanhaji', starring Ajay Devgn, was also seen as a pro-Hindutva movie by many.
