'Adipurush' is Indian cinema's most ambitious and modern day adaptation of the Hindu epic Ramayana. The film, starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan in the lead roles, was released in theatres on June 16. Unfortunately, the audience didn't receive the big-budgeted drama well.
Directed by Om Raut, even the target audiences resented Adipurush because of sloppy VFX works and poor writing. Moreover, the improvisations made in the movie didn't sit well with the Hindu people to the extent that they were hurt by the portrayal of their idols. The film was banned in certain parts of Nepal and courted controversy in India due to specific dialogues.
Now, it is being reported that the controversial dialogues in Adipurush have been modified, mainly dialogues spoken by Bajrang (Hanuman). The objectionable lines of dialogue have been changed, according to the producers and now a new version is being screened in theatres. After clearing the censors on June 12, the revised version was approved by the CBFC on June 19 again.
It is worth mentioning that the crew including director Om Raut and dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir Shukla received backlash for the dialogues in the movie. The audience will be able to enjoy Adipurush without those dialogues now. T-series and Retrophiles have jointly bankrolled the 600-crore spectacle.
