Not many saw it coming. On Tuesday morning, Prabhas' new epic drama was announced in style. Titled ‘Adipurush’, this one will be directed by Bollywood director Om Raut. To be made in Hindi and Telugu in 3D, the crazy project, to be released in 2022, will eventually be dubbed into Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.

The makers said that the film will go on the floors sometime in 2021. T Series, which has been working towards making Prabhas a bigger star in North India, will be co-producing it on a humongous scale.

The film is rumouredly based on the Ramayana and Prabhas' character will come with the traits and characteristics of Lord Rama. 'Celebrating victory of good over evil' is the caption, a line often associated with the life of Ram.

Talking about the film, the 'Radhe Shyam' and 'Saaho' actor said, “Every role comes with its own challenges, but portraying a character like this comes with a tremendous responsibility and pride. I am very excited to portray this character of our epic, especially the way Om has designed it. I am sure the youth of our country will shower all their love in our film.”

The buzz is that a big Bollywood star will be playing Prabhas' enemy in the film. Will his character resemble Ravan?
