Thala Ajith had recently starred in Ner Konda Paarvai, which was the official Tamil remake of Hindi hit Pink, that had Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu playing lead roles. The Tamil version was directed by H Vinoth, and was produced by Boney Kapoor.

Following the success of the Tamil version, it has been revealed that plans are on to remake the movie in Telugu, and while initially it was said that actor Balakrishna has been approached, the latest news making rounds is that Tollywood Powerstar Pawan Kalyan has been in talks for the remake.

It must be noted that Pawan Kalyan had announced quitting films last year, and is busy with his political party Janasena activities, and also contested this year's Lok Sabha elections. While an official clarification on this remake is expected soon, earlier Pawan kalyan had acted in Katamarayudu, the remake of Thala Ajith's Veeram.
